MY STORY
I started my own business as a marketing consultant and writer more than 16 years ago, after serving as chief marketing officer for an award-winning New York City communications firm where I oversaw marketing, public relations and sales. Prior to that, I was a marketing executive supporting the small business and middle market divisions at JPMorgan Chase.
As a specialist in higher education, I've collaborated with numerous colleges, universities and agencies across the country to develop creative concepts, launch magazines, revamp websites and write content for online and print communications. I've also supported business clients, among them American Express, First National Bank of Long Island and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
My editorial work has appeared in Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey Magazine and its Research & Ideas and Ideas Unlimited research sites; Fordham Magazine, Fordham Business, Fordham News and Gabelli Connect online; Vassar Quarterly; Marquette Magazine; and many other publications. I helped to launch and currently serve as managing editor of Fordham Business magazine, and am the former managing editor of Long Island Weddings of Distinction. As a columnist for Newsday, I wrote the weekly Everyday Hero and Community Champions Sunday columns for more than six years.
I regularly mentor college students and interns, and have also contributed to the communications profession in other ways. The Jesuit Advancement Administrators (JAA) Awards committee invited me to serve as a judge for two of its annual marketing communications competitions, and I'm a past member of the International Association of Business Communicators and the American Marketing Association.
Although I've been writing as far back as I can remember, I got hooked on this career after I published my first story in the Colorado Daily as a journalism student at the University of Colorado in Boulder. A native New Yorker, I live just outside the city with my husband, two children and two rescue dogs, Finn and Riley.
